Lineage
Line formed by a number of bilateral filiation, brotherhood or marriage relationships that connects different individuals united by kinship, affinity and pertinence relationships.
List
Brief or itemized description of archival units or conditioning units. Lists can be drafted for administrative, scientific and operational purposes. The first category includes the lists drafted in the event of a deposit, a withdrawn or a removal.
List of extraction
List compiled by the Recruitment Council (CdL) after having checked the enrollment lists sent by the municipalities. It is formed by the same names, but set in an order made by drawing lots. The extraction list includes, in addition to the personal data, the outcome of the physical examination and the rule of the Council regarding the suitability or not for enrollment. The drawing by lot also determined the number of conscripts who will immediately enter the army or join the army reserve based on the quota required for each district. The extraction list are compiled by class and district for this particular motive.
Location
The physical position of an archival unit in the conditioning unit and the warehouses, expressed by the archival signature. Some types of archival units may, for practical reasons, have a particular location, separate from the other units belonging to the same set of archives (for example: registers, balance sheets, final accounts, etc.): in this case the report – the so-called archival bond- is guaranteed by means of appropriate references included in the description.
